How we find the right group

It is about more than ability

GT7 looks at the individual player and how they are getting on within their current football environment.

A player’s starting point, mentality and physical development are considered too, alongside the experience and judgement of the GT7 coaching team.

Enjoyment

Are they happy, smiling and engaged?

Involvement

Are they getting involved in the session? If not, why?

Progress

Are confidence and football skills developing?

Time on the ball

Are they getting enough touches and opportunities to play?

Goals

Can they achieve what they need to within their current group?

What boys football means to players and parents

Common questions

GT7 was created to work alongside grassroots football and provide additional coaching and fixture opportunities.

We look at the individual player, including their football development, confidence, involvement and how they respond within the session. The aim is to find the environment where they can enjoy their football and develop.

Yes. Lions, Tigers and Wolves are transitional groups. Players can move between them as their needs change, with any proposed move discussed with parents or carers.

No. Development is not always a straight line. Moving groups is about finding the environment that is right for the player at that point.

JPL teams form part of the Lions programme. In age groups where GT7 has a JPL team, Tigers provides another development option.

GT7 is a weekly commitment, with membership paid monthly.
